American Pain Care Foundation Victory

Rep. Loebsack’s Military Pain Care Act, H.R. 5465 passed by House!

Three days before Memorial Day, on May 22, 2008, the House passed the 2009 National Defense Authorization Act which included Rep. Loebsack’s Military Pain Care Act, H.R. 5465. These provisions will ensure all servicemembers access to proper pain care management by requiring the Department of Defense to implement a well-defined and comprehensive pain management program for all active servicemembers in the military health system. This legislation will next move to conference to be combined with the Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act.

Thanks to all who took action and contacted their representatives. This is a real victory in all of our efforts to move forward the three pain care bills that are in congress to improve the quality of life for people affected by pain. The more that we join our voices, the more we are heard. Please send this to a friend, celebrate this victory, and add their voice.

On this Memorial Day, the American Pain Foundation remembers our veterans past and present as we work with you to improve the quality of life for people with pain and those that love them.

Hello Julie, Got your blog address from your Mama. Enjoyed her visit immensely.
As one who has been on the Cancer road myself along with many others your blog is just great. Information and inspiration seasoned with honesty. Just what is needed for many of us. It's an adventure and companions on the way make all the difference.

Love and laughter are good antidotes too for the dark days and the blues so kudos to Rick for being there as he is..It's clear you will make the most of the experience. As Marcus Borg says, "there is a blessing in every catastrophe if you can find it". Love from us both. Garth and Dorothy.

Thank you, Garth and Dorothy, for your wonderful comments.  I appreciate your empathy. And please keep an eye on my Mama.  She needs support through this, too!
