My approach to recovery

My approach to recovery, rehabilitation and personal growth (aimed at increasing independence) looks at five functional domains – physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual.  This is based on a therapeutic model of support that is tailored to meet my pecific needs.

Some goals that go with this philosophy are:

  • Get up and walk 5 times a day.
  • Think about the end positive result, but take it a day at a time.
  • Connect with people who want to support my efforts and ALLOW them to help me.
  • Be 100% authentic as usual.  If I feel like crying, I have permission to do so.  I also have permission to take it easy and be grateful.
  • Nothing is impossible.  I trust God has a plan for me.
